Animal Nepal is an organization dedicated to improving animal welfare. Through carefully designed interventions, animal rescue, research, education & advocacy, their our vision is to help create a world where animals are free from pain, suffering and human cruelty.

A Legacy of Compassion in Action

In 2009, after meeting with social activist Pramada Shah, Animal Nepal was formally registered as an NGO. Since then, the organization has expanded its mission to support a wide range of animals, including companion animals, working animals, farm animals, and wildlife. Beyond direct rescue and care, Animal Nepal is a leading voice in animal advocacy in Nepal, bridging on-the-ground work with efforts to create lasting, systemic change. Through close collaboration with the government and other stakeholders, Animal Nepal has championed initiatives that improve animal welfare nationwide. Most notably, Animal Nepal played a pivotal role in the introduction of the Working Animal Welfare Directive in 2017, and is now actively working on the Animal Welfare Act, aiming to ensure comprehensive protection for all animals across Nepal.
